Greetings to all the lovers of the wonderful and esoteric Armenian duduk.
I am ecstatic about joining this resourceful forum. I appreciate the opportunity
to engage and constructively participate accordingly.
I have become much enamored with this instrument. Its sounds go deep to the soul
of my bones, stirring a passionate experience that blends the extraordinary with the
surreal. The Armenian duduk captures the pathos of the soul and transforms my
perception of daily reality. The warmness of its gorgeous sounds is like a blend of
a bassoon, a cello, an oboe, a clarinet and a French Horn.
I used to play the bassoon in college, and the duduk is way more challenging and "organic"
in regards to the reed and intonation issues.
I also studied music composition with Dr. Joseph Packales, and I am very excited
about incorporating this instrument with other instruments, like the cello sustaining the
drone or perhaps a viola.
Again, I appreciate this opportunity and I am looking forward to very rewarding experiences
with you all in due time.
Regards, El Catalan
