Hi! I have been obsessing over the Duduk for around a month now and I have just been informed that I will have one waiting under the tree when i come home for christmas. I cant wait to start learning. If there are any players in Boston let me know! we can jam together.

Hi Chris-

Any info on teachers near boston?

I'm a clarinettist/singer newly excited about the duduk (I sing Georgian music so might look more into the Georgian version, duduki)... anyway, would be psyched to get together at play as soon as I get one. Which I hope will be soon.

But let me know about teachers!

Hey! I dont know about teachers in Boston, the plan was to just buy one and try to teach myself, let me know when you get one and maybe we can look for a teacher together.

I am in central MA. I just received one for Christmas too. I am a Native American Flute maker and player. I don't travel much but would enjoy chatting for now about local duduker's experiences. I am teaching myself now. (I think) Feel free to email me.

I started a google group for duduk enthusiasts in/near Boston. (I wasn't getting notified of updates to this conversation)- anyway, if you want to join, it's at http://groups.google.com/group/duduk-in-boston and should be open to join.

Hi folks!

I just moved to Boston, and I have my first duduk on order... I'd love to get together to play or discuss once I get more comfortable with the instrument.

I now have my duduk (from duduk.com! - "A" flavored variety) and have blown some notes on it. I have found two potential teachers- one Turkish musician named Mehmet (went to conservatory with him) and an armenian named Artur Yeghiazaryan, you can google him to get his myspace page, he's a great player (also plays the sax). I heard him at Ryles last week. His english isn't perfect. I have a lesson with him on Saturday- will let all know how it goes.
