Hi! Yep. I got screwed. Wanted a duduk since a whole year so bad but couldn't really afford it because i'm an irresponsible bastard with money.

But i didn't have to worry, hell on ebay you got plenty for almost nothing!

But it looks like i've buy somehitng almost inutilisable. I have experience in music but not in Duduk. So I know that what i,ve buy is cheap.

It seems to me that it's good for beginning! Altough i should have wait for more money to come. (not to worry i'll buy a real one in 6 month or so)

BUt the main problem are the reed. HOrrible. They are horrible. Absolutely untunable, almost unplayable. Out of five i've got one that work and that's all.

The duduk himself seems at least in tune with himself. Wich is good if i want to make some recording and play in band.

So my question. If i buy good quality reed, what are my chance of improving my mistake?

Any other commentary will be accepted with pleasure.

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your reeds. But, if you think the duduk is worth it, and while
you wait, I would strongly consider getting a pro reed from Moses, and make the
best with what you have until a more sunny day with a real pro duduk- from duduk.com!

sad.gif Sterolau I'm sorry/ i guess i need to do more PR and try to get the word on Ebay

good reed's will help you - at List you will have a good reed to practise - in tune or not in tune you can still "play" and practise

also stop by at our Duduk FAQ web page or - in duduk forum - under duduk help ( if you don't; already have the printed copy of it supplied by the "Master" on Ebay ) take your time and see haw will you be working w/ the reed - it takes tome to get them going, and play the reed in tune - or to play them at all

I just finished ordering my pro reed for my A duduk from Moses @ duduk.com!
Man, I am so happy! I pray it will make a difference with the
duduk I have now. A fine reed is like hitting the lottery for me right now,
he-he. I truly appreciate what this forum and Moses have done for
my familiarization with the wonderful Armenian duduk!

My reed has arrived! I just need to pick it up @ my post office,
since my wife did not hear the call bell and I just got "the slip"
with a return address: "DUDUK.com".
Thank you Moses! (Now that was fast delivery!)

Thank you, thank you Moses! Yes, my pro reed is on top of my desk,
after I carefully removed it from the neatly wrapped (double bubble wrap) package. I have never seeing or smell or touch such a work of craftmanship! It is far superior to the ones I have now from "master" Simonian, he-he-they are souvenirs indeed! On the other hand, this reed is so beauttiful! I admired the smoothness and even texture of the reed itself, and the briddle slides in and out very easy, and it is very easy to place and remove the cap, it does not feel "forced" onto it.
I am coming off my skin, since I "can't wait" to get off work and start playing this pro reed- following the helpful tips of Moses- and I appreciate that very much!
(I should have call in sick...just joking!)
