So I bought a Duduk and the reed is a bit too open when i play it, anyway. I am following the instructions on this site on how to play the Duduk, but I was wondering is it typical that the Duduk will make NO SOUND with a new reed. I'm pushing Air into this thing for all I'm worth and I can make one sound but once i move my fingers to change keys its gone and I can't blow anymore.
What is going on? I played the Saxophone before but i don;t remember having to blow this hard to make one sound. |

Hello and welcome to duduk forum
if your reed is tooo open, you need to adjust the opening by moving the bridle to the direction of the duduk, you will find some more help at the reed sub forum & also please see http://duduk.com/Arm-music-ins/Duduk/Duduk-Info/index.html " Because the reed expands as it is played, a small bridle is used to regulate the aperture of the reed."
