I had seen a Duduk reed on ebay that was around 49.00, which is a lot higher than you see those sell on ebay. I asked the seller, Eva (from Armenia) who the maker of the reed was. Steen thought that he was around 81, and probably not making reeds. However, I knew a neighbor of ours that was 92 and kept busy with his lathes, chain saws cutting trees down, working in in metal working shop with drills and other cutters and seemed very active. So I would not put it out of the idea that somene that is 81 has quit making reeds. I recently bought a straight razor from a German, Herr Heribert Wacker that he had just made and he is 85 years old and still making razors.
