I use walnut oil to condition the wood instead of above technic. I take some oil rub it into a rag then wipe it on my duduk.

it will work, you can also use sweet Almond Oil.
but wan you use the Technique in our instructions - your not only using the oil but also the natural ingredients such as Acid & minerals - which do help on preserving the instrument. Walnuts are a good source of omega-3 fatty acids, they also provide protein, several essential vitamins and minerals. MOses -------------------- ...: † :...Powered by Apricot Juice ...: † :...

Ok, so I have been playing the duduk for about 2 months. But it seems that I have to constantly tune it! When I first start playing the duduk, it sounds good, but the longer I play it, I have to keep on adjusting it. The aperture just gets wider and wider (due to moisture of breath), then I have to adjust the wooden clasp to close the aperture.

some reed's do have tendency of opening way more then the others - it's the material,
some reed's are opposite - you start/ get them ready to play - you play for a moment then the reed starts closing up don;t gave up on it yet it takes time - some reeds in a time do become excellent reed's - it take s time to break in to them assuming that your reed is good or good enough to play any new reed can have such problems - gave it more time - massage the tip of the reed after you wet it what you need to undressed is that your reed is new and in order for the reed to work and make good sound - vibration / resonance - the lisp of the reed need to be touching each other 2 to 2 1/2 mm this is wan you will have the maximum sound agine assuming that your reed is good it's not a Souvenir it's normal / to adjust the aperture ( opening ) the reed is soft or to soft #1 if you wet the reed to much you will have this problem - try to open or get the reed ready by blowing moisture of your breath #2 wan wetting the reed - only wet the tip of the reed #3 wan storing the reed - close the cap just enough to close the 2 lips of the reed - do not force the reed cap #4 wan storing the reed make sure the brittle ( wooden clasp )is Free- it's not pressing the reed <br> MOvses http://www.duduk.com -------------------- ...: † :...Powered by Apricot Juice ...: † :...
