So for quite some time I've been amazed by the sound the Duduk is capable of creating and purchased one recently. I will admit that I did purchase my duduk off of Amazon, and yes I am well aware that the duduk's and reed's off of amazon are not known to be of the highest quality, however, as a beginner and for the price, the instrument suits me. Now I do plan to purchase a much more professional grade instrument and reed in the near future as I'm learning quickly and truly enjoying the instrument.
Now along with the duduk I received I was given this link http://duduk.msk.ru/info/instructions-notes.pdf Now right in the beginning it speaks of a duduk that has 14 finger holes. 8 in the front and 6 in back (capable of being pressed through a series of metal buttons). Well this was certainly not what I purchased and of every place I've looked no place sells a duduk consiting of that many holes. The closest thing I've seen to this would be the dam duduk at duduk.ca, but even that instrument only sports 11 holes. Either way I was just curious as to if such an instrument exists. If not, I am definitely happy with the traditional 10 hole duduks. |
