I've never been much of a forum guy so this is strange to me. Forgive my awkwardness.
The sound of the duduk has haunted me for years and I've just found out a few months ago what that sound actually is. I have excitedly read every bit of information on the instrument and the Armenian culture that I've been able to find. I purchased my first duduk shortly after discovering the instrument. I didn't get it from the most reputable source so it is just another souvenir, but it sounds decent.
I suppose I registered on this forum because I wanted to connect to other musicians. I live in Maryland, (East Coast, USA) and it seems everyone around me is as ignorant of the instrument as I was until just a short time ago. It'd be nice to talk to people who know what the duduk is. I'm tired of people looking at me strange when I tell them what instrument I'm playing.
