Just curious. Would it be any easier to learn to play on a professional duduk? It seems to me that the constant tuning of a beginner's instrument would make it harder to learn.

yes. quite true, for a good instrument is half of the good player

professional duduk would make your learning experience much much much easier - one of the advantages is that the duduk & reed would be in tune ( if you get a Pro Duduk ) - so no guessing and struggling over keeping the duduk & reed in tune - just wan ordering - make sure that you get a Soft reed - it will also help wan starting to play.

let me know if you need more info or any help

Thanks for the feedback Moses. I've been looking for an excuse to buy a pro instrument. You may have just persuaded me. biggrin.gif I do want to get the best though and right now my finances won't allow it. But I wonder if buying a soft reed for my current instrument would help at all? Or should I just keep saving for the pro?

you can always use the reed on your pro duduk - so you money will not be waisted this way or the other + it's fun experimenting -
have been working on a plastic reed for 3 months now - i know that almost nothing can replace the sound of the natural reed - but I'm welling to try / experiment - who knows what sound / intonation / quality i might get from it, in any case it's fun wink.gif
