Hi all!

I was introduced to the duduk by my friend when he asked me to listen to the sound track "More Music from Gladiator". One of the pieces was the first track: Duduk of the North (5:35). I was amazed that this instrument sounded exactly like a Chinese muscial instrument that I play called the guanzi:

In addition, there are Korean (piri) and Japanese (hichiriki) musical instruments that are very similar to the duduk too!

This is simply amazing I am interested to investigate and find out whether is there any links between the duduk and guanzi, both of which are very similar instruments from two vastly different ethnic groups.

Hope to perhaps buy one a duduk one day and compare both instruments.
